Frequently Asked Questions
Is
it better for me to take easier courses and get A's, or take
harder courses (AP and Honors) and get B's?
Generally, college
admissions will look favorably upon students who challenge
themselves academically rather than take an easy A.
How many
AP courses do I need to take to get into the college of my
choice?
The answer will
vary for different colleges. Do your homework! Define your
goals; if you want to graduate in three years, consider how
many courses you will need to have when you begin college.
How is an AP exam scored?
AP exams are scored
on a scale of 1-5; a 3 is a passing grade for most colleges,
however, some selective colleges only accept a 5. Again, check
requirements for those schools to which you will be applying.
Which
AP classes should I take?
Define your strengths
and take AP courses that interest you.
Don't
shy away from classes that earn college credit because you
are not prepared.
